Dean Bertram is the president of KDL Solutions. Dean has over 14 years experience in a forensic science research laboratory. Bertram holds a master degree from USM and is presently a PhD candidate and instructor of Forensic Science at USM. Dean has consulted and instructed throughout the nation and internationally. His current research activities include new technology for rehydration of friction skin ridges on live and decomposed tissue.


Kimberly R. Wright a registered histology supervisor prepares her lab for accreditation standards. She writes procedures for proper accreditation protocols, handle all operational protocols for the

histology laboratory, serves on the safety committee, lead team committee, unit safety officer for all chemicals used in the histology lab. she also is responsible for all qc for test perform in the laboratory.


Jon S. Byrd comes to KDL with thirteen (13) years of forensics experience.  Jon earned his BS degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Forensic Science from the University of Southern Mississippi.  Jon has consulted and lectured throughout the nation and internationally.  His current research includes confirmation bias in a forensic setting.  Jon is currently board certified as a latent print examiner and footwear/tire track examiner by the International Association for Identification.  Jon is also a distinguished member with the IAI and serves as the Chair of the IAI Latent Print Identification Committee. Jon has been accepted numerous times in a court of law as an expert in his fields of expertise.
